Yes, all agreed, but they have been comeback men late in the game.  The only way this woula made sense to me is if I broke my 17 years of sobriety, went to the wrong side of town this morning and bought a big rock of crack and a bottle of Whiskey. m14brian

It's funny, my wife likes packers shirts and what not. But, she doesn't watch or like football. I don't really understand it.

You may think this is strange, but I don't watch or keep up with football. The only sport I really keep up with is NASCAR. I use to watch football years ago, but for whatever reason, I just lost interest. My son plays football and I enjoy watching his games. Or if I'm at someone's house and they are watching it, I will watch. But that's about it. I hope I don't get barred from here because I'm not a fan.

No, man I understand.  It's cool.  I just started watching again a couple years ago.  I was so pissed off at some dumb$hit QB back in the day, he was trying to pad some wide receiver's record and kept throwing to him when other people were open.  They lost of course.  And I lost $50.  That was a lot of money in 1985.  I was pretty dissolusioned with the sport, with adding new stupid rules and crap, and other stupid crap going on.  I like the Packers though, a good club, all I care about except how other teams affect the Packers.  I like NHRA except top fuel and hockey a little bit. M21guy seemed to take today's loss better than me.  I wonder where he is...  m14brian

The Packers played like crap. They deserved to loose playing like that. No it isn't weird not following football. I didn't much till I met my friend Zack. He and I watched the games together and that made it fun. It hasn't been the same without him. However NASCAR is, yeah… /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-confused.gif

I was hoping that it would've ended when the score was 7-6 Packers, with a lesson learned, and the winning streak still on. m14brian

Well it looked like it could've happened, they were stifling KCs plays for a bit there.  Oh well, it's over.  Still hope for the Super Bowl. m14brian

The biggest thing that bugs me, I guess might be the word, the ridiculous salaries these professional athletes get paid. Then the cry, " I'm not playing unless I get 20 million more or whatever. I'm sorry, I don't care what you do for a living, nobody is worth that sort of money. Especially when we have troops overseas fighting and dieing for megar wages. I understand they don't do it for the money, I didn't, but they should be better paid than what they are. Then you got idiots like Obama that won't give them a raise and when he finally does, it's 1.5% or whatever. Sorry, this is another subject that gets under my skin.

Me too.  It's not fair but that's capitalism.  All the other alternatives suck it, and squash innovation and excellence.  I think the real problem is regular people putting "stars" on a pedistal, and that starts the ugly circle.  If fans said, "Nah, I'm not paying $30. to see a game", and nobody did, we wouldn't be paying $200.+ for some games.  If we didn't give away money to everyone and seriously cut spending, in a couple years the military could be paid properly too. m14brian

Speaking of spending, I'm confused about the money we give out to foreign aid. We have a HUGE deficit, but we are giving money to foreign governments?? And we are borrowing money to be given to foreign governments? Does anyone else see something very wrong there? Personally, if I am scratching for money, I don't give what I do have away and I certainly don't borrow money to give to another person. It's common sence I would think.

Our policy is unbelievably backwards.  It's like a guy being in debt, can't pay his rent, but is paying several of his neighbor's rent and bills with borrowed cash just to be liked.  If I was President, All giveaways would be stopped until we were in the plus with money, and that's it.  m14brian

Exactly, that's how anybody with any common sense would do. Oh wait, I forgot who I was talking about, my bad.

That's what you and I would do with our money. That's just it, it's not their money they are blowing, it's ours, so they don't mind sending us into more debt.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple though.  When I first started going back to school, my first class was Government because I enjoy politics.  I learned however that when a President takes office, 80% or so of his budget is spent already, paying for the promises of administrations' past.  So, nothing will get done ever. m14brian

I'm hoping for Mars to attack myself. The scene in the movie where the Martians vaporized the house and Sentient, was priceless, put a smile on my face. "we come in peace" LMFAO

Ronald Reagan said, "Socialism only works until you run out of other people's money".  I am certain he was our best contemporary President hands down.  He was for smaller government.  I think it would take him coming back to get us out of this mess. m14brian
