Hey everyone,

As you know, I sometimes give out prizes (m14 brian, I haven't forgot about you, will mail it this week, I promise).

I was thinking of running a forum contest this month and wanted to know what prizes would you guys like to see given out?

Budget is about $150.

Look forward to your replies.

Jerry

m1arifles, I think it's great that you provide this forum for all of us to enjoy, but contests also? Very Cool! Man, I think pretty much anything M14/M1A related would be great. Maybe a forged milspec part like an oprod or unitized gas cylinder if one could be found in that price range?

E.T.A... CMI 20 round magazines make great prize items too! ;)

Well one of them new SEI pistons might be interesting. I'd like to have one to test and compare to the Sadlak NM that I run now.

Even if I didn't win it, many of the forum members haven't updated their piston and are running crap. It would be a good prize for many of us.

All those are good ideas. I like the mag idea the best. You can never have to many magazines.

even if you dont give away hats you should ask who would buy one if you had them made up. I would get one and wear it all the time I am VERY brand faithful and that causes me no end of shit from my friends but I am big and have broad shoulders so i can handle it!

Mags are a great idea. Would love a hat - good advertising for the site, too. I agree with HavelockLEO about taking care of the site. This is an awesome site. By the way, I suppose you would, but its worth reminding the site administrator to make sure we know if there is ever any way we can help keep the site healthy and happy.

I like all these ideas actually.  Parts, since most of us have a few M1As, quality scope mounts, you can get a Basset or A.R.M.S. # 18 in that price range I think.  I've seen trigger groups on gun broker.  I'd like a spare bolt, you can't get them from SA directly.  In California, C.M.I. mags have to be sold in "Parts kits" for people that already own 20 round mags as parts replacement, but no problem there it can be done.  Spare stocks, I found a refinished ready USGI at the gun show for $125.  Drag bags in camo, shooting supplies.  M1A/M14 books. Gift cards to Brownell's or Midway USA.

I'm just getting started with my M1a. All of these ideas are fantastic. No matter what you choose, it just expresses your desire to see the community grow. I've lurked around ar15.com and was always impressed with their selection of forum promotional items. It may give you some ideas (too many promotional items could make anyone broke).

Nice cleaning kits, take down wrenches, etc. are always good ideas in my opinion. It's free.....never any complaint here, even if you just throw it back into the site.

Thanks, Jerry!
I had another thought.  Some M1A specific tools would be cool.  Like good a set of castle nut pliers, bolt disassembly tool, handguard clip removal tool, gas cylinder tool. etc.  Maybe a set.

I think we need T-shirts with the Forum logo on it too.  For sale as well as prizes.
Thanks,

What about some new .308 brass? Or possibly a TNVC cheek riser?
