Today I volunteered myself as a role player for the graduating academy class. It was funny as hell to see scared academy recruits try and perform in order to graduate. I suppose I wasn't any better really, but all these recruits had partners to fall back on. I was the lone wolf and ironically I drew "randomly" no partner. I still think that was rigged. Anyway I had no one to fall back on. It was a real eye opener where I realized I should try harder to be more of a team player. A partner is a valuable asset. However, after the fact I realized just what I done. I did it pretty much on my own. So it helped me consider more options. Remember I hoped to just get on the local PD. Now a year later I'm in the running for deputy sheriff. It is pretty exciting really. I walk pretty tall and I'm confident in myself. Also in that year I've gained some relationships with others and have a new circle of friends. I cannot say life is perfect (yet), but it does get better.

I got an Elite Trauma kit #3, it's more like a glorified first aid kit, but it beats the hell out of the buttpack style first aid kit I had. I got this basically for SHTF prep, for extended supplies for if I have to bug in, or If I can get to the house and have a couple minutes to throw some bags in the truck and haul ass. I had to add many things to this kit like a lot more large and small bandages, a real roll of bandage tape, more H bandages, more quick tourniquets, a few QuikClots, a large tube of Neosporin, more smelling salts, scalpel blades, sutures, my own prescription migraine and pain meds and asthma inhaler, a snake bite kit, etc. There was plenty of room to add stuff, it was just a basic kit with generic type supplies, but it is way better than what I had . I want to get one of those small electronic fingertip O2/heart rate monitors and a few more little things, its pretty full now. Basically it is just for myself and the wife. This is it in Multicam-

I am in!!! I got notified tonight I was hired by The Lauderdale PD Lake Patrol. I will be a sworn officer here soon. It is part time, but it is my in. Later this month I will be interviewing for deputy sheriff. I'm am so excited now.

Man oh man I need someone like in that song. Ticks are fierce this year. I spend a lot of time in the forest and they are just a crawling. I looked down at my arm once today and there was like thirty of them devils, in my hair and on my neck. I either need a partner or frontline plus like the dogs get. I'm glad to be on the water next weekend, but I'll probably find skeeters their. Damn bugs!_

When I was working as a LEO I had a three day pack in my trunk in case of hurricanes or other things that could and did keep me away from my house for more than a few days.

I kept three days of skivvies, toiletries, socks and the like in a bag, ready for use in the trunk of my car. Now that I'm not doing that anymore I've decided to expand what I carry for the same circumstances.

I added a smaller bag to the bottom of my 3 day MOLLE pack as well as a MOLLE canteen pouch (these are also used as GP pouches) and I've crammed in it four spare 30 round AR mags. In the bottom pouch I have another two spare mags, a green monster (those great US Gubment hard bound log books), shaving gear, writting gear (pen/pencil/grease pencil/sharpie and paint markers), a diamond knife sharpener and thats been it so far.

Seperate from the pack I put in a chest rig that has 12 30 round Magpul pags and a hard plate over my chest.

I also have an ALICE pack that will have enough food and comfort (relatively speaking) to last between five days and week.

So far the hardest part has been listing what needs to go into the MOLLE and ALICE packs.

I'll post pictures soon of what I've got so far.

Okay I applied for deputy sheriff. The online form was intensive I thought, but I got a pass to the written exam. I done fucked up and somehow put my vision and hearing were not good. How the F do that? I sent an email back stating I F-ed up and they are fine. I hope that doesn't DQ me. Anyway I'm schedualed for the exam, so I'm in I guess. I need a 70% or higher. Shouldn't be a problem. Upon taking the test I need my ID, My DD214, and this huge mother of personal history packet. Every employer, every address, every NSF everything right down to scars. Criminy I'd have to submit 10 pages alone for scars on my body! I'm a train wreck. My financial history is going to kill me and probably my employment history. Them two things have issues plus chalk up some discipline issues I probably don't have a chance. Although I get the full 25pts for being a service connected disabled vet. Too bad that is a wash with everything else probably. Well hopefully I'll make the cut to the physical fitness and agility portion. Which I'm sure I'll struggle. I'm a train wreck as I stated. But perhaps by the grace of God, maybe I'll make it to interviews where I know everything will have to be explained diplomatically. IF I somehow get over that I suppose next might be the psych exam. Who the fuck knows if I'd pass that! I've been accused of not being right in the head. I don't know.

It really is extremely intrusive into my life and skeletons will probably fall from the heavens and not just the closet. I did not want to under go this level of scrutiny just to be a cop. A small town hick is all I really wanted, but the Sheriff's department would be just insane. Way over the top like the day I graduated as a Marine. All that hard work earning the title. A totally awesome day that was. There has never been another like it and I never imagined there might be again, but IF I pulled this off and got hired, well lightning struck twice. The very last job I will ever have, because this is a career. And I'll probably die doing it. Retirement is so not an option at this point. Too many opertunities there, I'd never get to do them all and would never grow tired of all of them in my life time. That would be impossible.

I'm going to need plenty of support here at home and I just ain't got it. What little I have is going to be taxed like no tomorrow. I hope I still have some friends after this one is over. Going to be a huge let down if I cannot make it with all this time invested. I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't REALLY want it. Worst thing about it, is I'm competing against my friends. There is only so many spots and to me they have a way better chance than I do. In a perfect world we'd all make the cut and be hired together, but the world isn't perfect. One of which is my best friend. We joke about it, being partners for life. It really does mean something to me. I love him and I'd like that. I fear letting someone like him down worse than letting myself down. I cannot fail him, I just can't.

There is a shit load at stake here. I'm exhausted thinking about it so I'm off to bed. I have to get off to work in the morning anyway. Keep me in your thoughts.

I got in my car after class, and 2 minutes later, I hear the good news. Now we just have to wait and make sure the AWB and mag capacity bills fail too, which is apparently all but assured.

The thing I don't get is why the separate bill that would make it harder for the mentally unstable failed.

Apparently 4 republicans need to be fired for trying to help pass the UBC expansion, and 5 democrats need to be given a bit of respect for not voting for it, even though they were 6 votes short.

I find myself having a bit of faith restored in our government.

The last Resonant Evil movie, not so good. I did not care much for it. But if you like flesh and hot women prancing around with guns, then it might be your thing. Story line wasn't that great.

End of Watch was pretty good. Two LA cops doing their job stumble onto Mexican cartel enterprises. It causes the Cartel to react and our heroes are in their sights. A dramatic climax and ending. I thought it to be quite good, but warned friends not to watch with their wives.

Breaking Dawn Part II. The last of the Twilight movies and probably the best. This one really was good. It didn't piss me off. Jacob played by Taylor Lautner is great as usual and it looks to be a happy ending which, who doesn't like happy endings. If this would be the only one worth seeing.

Back during early summer of last year I and my son went on a very technical hike and mountain climbing session with a friend of the family. The friend is an avid hiker and outdoorsman, but has never hunted and doesn't care for firearms. His a transplant to N.C. from Long Island N.Y. He's different from typical Long Islanders, in that if he dosen't agree, he will at least listen to you opinions and arguements and carry on a civil debate. Well the other evening he posted on his Facebook account that he found it unbelievable that gun rights supporters idea to reduce gun crime was to hand out more guns. Naturally, I couldn't let that zinger go unanswered, and before you know it, we were having a very lively debate. I remained calm even though it was difficult to keep from angering at all the rediculous notions that were being posted about the whole thing. One thing I noticed in our debate is that every arguement he tried to make was hinged on his "feeling" and no amount of facts I and many others presented to him could convince him that he might just be the one who's wrong. I don't hate the guy, but I do despise his unwillingness to weigh the facts and look at the issue without allowing "feelings" to cloud his stance. I tried, but it didn't work out. I've given some though to inviting him to a shooting range somewhere nearby to try to reeducate him, but I don't know if it would do any good. His hardline liberal wife wouldn't approve I'm sure. Haha! That would make it worth the effort right there!

I see Huntinghawk locked the thread over there. I suppose it was wise to do so, but it just shuts the door on an issue that needs to come out. That thread was started with a question of if you supported gay marriage if they'd leave gun control alone.

Folks the notion is stupid. It is two very different issues. The only thing that binds them together is the US Constitution. We all believe here that it is our right to bear arms and all these silly laws banning certain things in places is just BS. That is the tie that binds because we are gun owners.

The Gay Marriage issue does not bind us. We have entirely different views on that subject as seen by the thread over there. Some people claim it is against religious beliefs. Okay so it is by interpretation.. But the right of marriage isn't a question of religious beliefs it is a question of what is Constitutional. In 1967 the Supreme Court decided on their decision of allowing inter racial marriages. Something many states discriminated against at the time. The time is now and the same sort of decision needs to be made. People of all walks of life should have the same sort of rights as others enjoy having without persecution without living under some different segment of society.

Notice I didn't muddle the waters saying it is a god given right about guns. Leave god out of it because god in itself is subject to interpretation. If we are to be free men, then let us be free, all of us. If you believe something like this is against God's will and they will be struck down, with all sorts of hellfire and brimstone in their time of judgement, then you do. But maybe people should leave that judgement to whatever god they pray to instead of pretending they were some sort of profit on the matter.

I hope the Supreme Court does the right thing and makes the only decision where discrimination isn't legalized and that is to allow it. It is going to be of mixed review, but people emotions are their own. Thank god for free will. Thank the US Constitution for rights and freedoms.

Question for grunts regarding amphib vehicles

I'm an avid PC gamer, and play the crap out of battlefield, and they just released a trailer for BF4 showing a RIB going over some seriously nasty waves to get to a carrier and it made me wonder...

When deploying from the ships, can AAVs and LAVs go through nasty waves, or does it have to be flat water? I'm thinking that the intakes for the engines and air supply for the crew could be compromised with rough water, and I've only ever seen videos and pictures of these two amphibious craft deploying in almost perfect water. Figured since we have a few grunts on the board I could get an answer. Been thinking about maybe doing a short story involving an amphibious assault in bad weather, want to be accurate.

So I have two chainsaws left to me by dad. One is his newer Poulan Pro I have been using and the old, really old one is the Power Mac 310 (a classic). Anyway the Poulan Pro broke its chain brake for some odd reason. I took it apart and had to order the parts since no one has them in stock.

I kind of wanted to use the chainsaw at work this weekend so I looked at the old Power Mac sitting there. I cannot remember the last time it ran. It has been many years. The recoil rope had broke and it never was fixed. So I tore it apart. Simple easy fix. It should get a new rope and I might just get one for it, but I had to first see if it even ran. I put some fresh gas in it, checked the bar oil and gave it a try. Now the Power Mac is a beast. the first few tries I broke the rope again. It takes some doing with the compression of that engine. So I went ahead and restrung it again. Once I finished I tried starting it again. By george it started. The saw bouncing around all angry like. Humm I thought to myself it could use a little tune. So I got a small screw driver and begain to turn the carb adjustments. I ran it wide open and at an idle. I think I about got it. It is a little less angry now. I took it out to a log and tried it. It cut okay but it could use a little attention. So I went back and sharpened it. Took it back and that was more like it. The Power Mac lives again. It is a nasty little saw. I know it has had a bar replaced and a few chains, but I'm not sure it has ever been serviced or have the spark plug replaced. I cleaned it up a little and called it a day with it. It is so cool for it to up and running again. That thing is like 30+ years old now. I cannot remember when exactly dad bought it, but I was a little boy. It has cut a huge amount of trees in its day.and it appears it will cut some more.

So that is my cheap thrill for today. A person needs a few cheap thrills now and then. Man I was all over the state today looking and buying stuff. I found power, some bullets, dies, primer tool, a case tumbler, bags of shot, uniflow powder dispenser, some media for the tumbler and a few other things. I spent like $800 and I still don't have primers. No one had any primers besides 209s for my shotshells.. Well I know a guy. I'll have to get him to open his trunk.

Well anyway I got some 178gr Hornady BTHP. I've been wanting to try these in my rifle.
250gr XTP HP for the 45win mag
185gr SWC for the 45acp,

Right how I'm in the process of cleaning brass. It will take weeks to clean all of it and sort it. Maybe in that time I'll have everything set up and I'll find some primers somewhere.

Someday soon I'll have ammo again though. It's been slow, ot have much of any.

I recieved a email from Midway USA saying they just got their one millionth active customer. In honor of that achievement, they donated $1.00 for each customer to the NRA, to help support our 2A rights.
Midway USA is also one of the businesses that are on the "good" list on policeloophole.com. That means they will not do business with police depts or governments that have placed gun restrictions on their citizens. The theory is if the citizens have restricted gun rights, than so shall the police and other government entities in that area.
I think both of these are really stand up for Midway USA. They've put citizens and their rights before profits.
I would encourage everone to support Midway USA with your business whenever possible. They are on our side.

Online Gun Forum Observations

Ever notice on gun forums, especially specific guns, you post something that might be pointing out something negative about the platform you're attacked?

How's about just asking a question about someone elses view and wanting to see what members thought about it, only to have it deleted by moderator staff.

Or your excited about the platform and using it only to be told what a bad idea it is. Then they attack you. On a forum supporting that firearm. It makes no sense to me.

It really doesn't matter where you go online. People can be and are assholes.

How's about the spelling Nazi's or the use the search button comments.

Since this forum is dead and quickly going flatline I've been elsewhere, but check back here about 20 times a day to see if anything might be new and exciting. No luck so far.

So I'm a member on a 1911 forum. I got warned about my language like I was a 6yo by a mod. It was stupid and I would've been banned if I replied like I wanted to.

Then I was watching a youtube video of Rob Pincus spelling out 3" 1911s suck. I didn't want a fight over it. Anyone with any time behind a 3" knows they don't always work and have serious reliability issues more often than not. But at the end of Mr. Pincus's video he had a challege saying he'd pay for the student that successfully completed his training with any 1911 and didn't error using the safety. So I posted the question if anyone has or knew someone that has done that. Simple question right?

My first reply was use a search (which I had done)

My third reply was from the moderate closing my thread.

Obviously Mr Pincus struck a nerve in the 1911 community. I've been watch his videos on self defence and such, the guy isn't wrong and his views are based on truth.

So then I go into that forum and others and read the same BS everyday. People embelish their gun, their skill, and endorce things I've personally found to be shit. For example endorsing a Barska tacticle scope as something of quality. Come on, even a kindigarden kid could determine it is crap.

I've come to the realization the internet is complete BS and real people at the range are far better than most that you find on the net. At least on the range we talk, sometime argue, but in the end we shoot each others guns, have a good time, learn from one another and go home feeling pretty good about things.

I like to research points of interest, but I get behind the keybaord and I want to shoot it.

I stopped going to M4 carbine because the community was full of people componsating for their abnormally small dicks, AR15.com is full of idiots, I don't like hang-out at the big forum too long because many of those guys are still left over from old times and are dicks, the 1911 community seems to be nonsense.

This forum here is about the only place there is that isn't so stupid. Probably because no one is ever here.

I've been watching several video clips of Joe Biden the last few days. Most of them are concerning his anti gun rhetoric. I've always thought Obama was stupid for having him as a running mate, but geez!
While I won't get in to all of my thought on him and I've several, but I will mention this.
Most of the videos have him discussing the shootings at Sandyhook and Aurora. His "concern" for the victims are disheartening at best. He is not at all a very good actor. It's painfully obvious, in my opinion, he has little or no concern what so ever about the victims or their families. To me, I can see he is merely "standing on the graves" of these victims in order to help push his and Obama's anti gun agenda and nothing more. It's sickens me to the core.
I find his words and gestures very offensive, not because I am pro gun, but more so because I am pro American and pro human.

I couldn't help but notice that all of them were caucasian subjects too. Where's all that "diversity" that the Obummer administration has been touting? Well like it says, I'm tired. In every gun forum known to man, it's the same old thing, same subjects and with all that is happening, talk about all of that. I used to view my favorite gun forums as a place to socialize and relax. I've got to say that anymore, not so much.
So I recall I used to have other interests long ago. Somewhere in history I walked away from them interests. What were they now? I was at my dad's shop. I used to spend every day there when he was alive and I worked with him. There in the back sat my 1972 John Deere 140H1. I started wrenching on it. It felt good. It's newly rebuilt engine still as smooth as the day I put it together. Dialed in it's electric clutch and did some other odds and ends. It needs a new battery. I'll have to get it when I can. Maybe even blow some snow with the 49 JD blower yet this year.
I started up the last remaining Deere of my dad's, the 79 2040. Man does that diesel run sweat. I touched up a spot on its yellow wheel. Some calcium chloride burned the paint off. It looks better now. Dad loved that tractor and so do I. With the seat adjusted for me now. Dad counted reach the clutch when I did that so it was strictly his tractor. Now I don't worry about it. I hooked up the brush hog for mowing come summer. I didn't think it would work with the quick hitch installed, but it does. Cool deal because I didn't want to take it of the draft.
I worked the 4 wheeler some. That hadn't ran since dad was around. That bad boy took some work. The carb was gummed up and the fuel line liked like crap. Battery was shot so I replaced it. Still a cold blooded beast, but it worked swell with the cart in tow. I was trimming trees cutting dead limbs with the chain saw. I even split some wood from a good sized pine I had cut down earlier this year. It's been since I was a kid I split wood by hand. Makes me wish now I had an extra hydraulic cylinder to build me a splitter. Used to have one, but no more. If I did I cut run it off the hydraulic of the tractor. Another project in the making.
I'm a proud new owner of a 76 214 JD lawn tractor. It needs a lot of work, but it is complete with a good mower deck and integral hitch in the rear. all 4 tires appear to be like new and hold air. former owner told me the K321 Kohler ran. So it is something for me to do when I feel like it and have some coin. Dad and I really loved our John Deere's. I sure miss the 555a crawler/loader, the 550G dozer, the 160 hoe, the 4010 tractor. I sure had fun with those machines. I ran a 450C crawler all summer. I kind of wouldn't mind buying it off the friend who owns it. The ripper used to be dad's and the original owner was Dad's friend. He took really good care of it. I would to. It needs some TLC after I got done working the piss out of it. I wish it was up to me, spending money to do so. My friend is a little on the cheap side and has no idea what it takes. No tools, no where to work on it there, and it needs some work. But the old war hoarse will survive.
If I ever win the lottery, I might just buy me a hobby farm, 500 acres or so. So I can play with my John Deere tractors. A newer combine though, but not too new. Say a 7720 Titan II turbo. It's still a damn nice machine.

Anyone one that knows me knows I love Fords and especially Mustangs. I've had my share of them in the past, but currently don't have a steed in the stable. Since the 05 models made their debut I have been jonesing for one. GTs, Boss, Shelby, Roush cars are all great and I like certain ones from each category. In the Early years of production I found myself just in awe over the legend lime cars. A color formally known as lime gold from the 67-69 production era. I'm a green fan and legend lime is trippy. Small production numbers with cars in that color. Small enough in fact they have their own online registry, forum and club. It's a cool color to me and I like the simple cockpit of the earlier cars. I drove a few of them and I like the car.

So I was in town the other day to register the wheeler at the DNR office. On the same frontage road their is a huge Ford Dealership. For giggles I drove in to the lot like I often do to look around at things I cannot afford. This dealership has Shelby, Boss, Roush, Saleen mustangs normally. They are a big dealer with the high end Stangs and specialty vehicles like the SVT F150 Raptor. Awesome stuff. Anyway I drove into the used side and out of the corner of my eye I saw a legend lime car way on the inside of the corral of used cars. I found myself instantly excited. Thoughts of wondering if it was a v-6 car, one with a pony package, a GT maybe going through my mind. As I drove the isle coming up on it from behind I could tell it was a GT. My heart was thumping pretty fast at this point. I said it out loud to myself, "OMG it is a GT!" Excited to know more I swung around to the front of it. Trying to contain my enthusiasm because what would be the chances it is a manual car with a tan interior. I couldn't tell from what I could see of it yet. As I pulled up I could now verify it did in fact have a tan interior. It looks wonderful with that color, the tan interior. Looking for signs of salesmen, because I didn't want to be bothered, I took a quick scan of the area. I didn't see anyone. So I quickly leaped from my truck, as giddy as a little school girl I was to satisfy my curiosity if it was a manual or not. How looking threw the passenger window I could see in fact it was a manual car. It's glorious black eight ball like shifter knob sitting there on it's short throw shifter stem. I about pissed myself standing there with my mouth open. There it was, my first love of the new series of retro Mustangs. All the basic options I wanted in one package. It even had the torq-thrust looking optional wheels. It was perfect.
It was a trade in with 82k on the clock. The car looked like the maybe 8200 it was so clean. I couldn't find flaws in it. It was just so immaculate. Obviously well cared for and a none smoker.car. Sticker on it was $13,800. If I had any sort of way to buy it I would have done so on the spot. Reality set in and I had to walk away with my head down low. A thought came to me that I should maybe take it for a test drive, but I knew if I did that I'd be just that much more hurt inside. As i left the dealer I had a tear in my eye. I deserve it, and not being able to do jack about it just makes me fell like a loser. I need a job like now. $13.800 isn't asking for the world. It quite small considering what things cost these days. But there it was the exact car I would have ordered in 06 given the opportunity to have done so. What are the chances of that?

Okay I got a little cash and there were many things I needed to do and get. A couple new pairs of jeans was one of them. Homeless have better.

Anyway I went to the Arctic Cat dealership to get a few things for dad's wheeler I'm using more and more. The fuel cap/gauge was shot. It was unreadable and the cover broken. This last weekend I was using it in the rain so the potential for water in the fuel could be likely with the old unit as such. It has been like that since we had it, but I thought it was time to get a replacement. While I was there I thought to get oil and a filter for it. Genuine AC stuff. I don't know about you all, but I like OEM parts and service on all my stuff. Too often I had bought generic to save a buck and found it didn't fit right or last near as long. My total was +80 dollars over 50 was for the oil and filter. Ouch that hurt. Probably could have gotten by, but here is the thing. The oil that was in the machine was replaced in May of 08. I cannot remember what oil was used back then, but it wasn't AC oil formulated for the wet clutch it has. The oil filter was Napa brand, which is okay I guess, but I wasn't going to leave the old filter on it. That would be just plain stupid. At any rate it was twice that of my truck. It had only gone 64mi since 5-08. I guess it will last forever at that rate.

While I was at the dealer I took a moment to look over the new machines. Holly Shit they are awesome with an awesome sticker price. An new 800 sled is more than I paid for my F250. Wow they are high! Glorious machines though, but it truly has become a rich mans sport. There is no way I could swing a new sled like I did back in 2000. No way even working a full time job like I had at the time. That was like a 3rd of my gross. The big bore wheelers are the same story.

But it was good to be back. I'm like a kid in them places. Instantly excited and just in awe. Talked to the service guy about Team Arctic. Good to hear Tucker Hibbert Is dominating this year. The kid is fantastic. I met him years ago at a race. I loved going to Snow Cross events. His Dad is an Arctic Cat legend, "Capt". Kirk Hibbert. I love those guys. It was really good just for a moment to be back in the circle. I miss it so much. I hate living like this, poor.

Writing exercise I did today for homework

So I'm taking creative fiction writing again, as a directed study (no poetry writing for this guy).  We had to write an exercise today, combining a bunch of aspects of different people, the president, an endangered species, our postman, an uncle/aunt, a person we admire, jerry seinfeld, and a bunch of other stuff, and then put them in a scenario where they are in a fight (not necessarily physical), and I figured, hell, I'll have some fun.

So i took one of my uncles who has a real bad drooling problem, one of the sexiest women on earth, and the rest, and made this silly amalgamation character to parody the current political environment regarding the 2A.  It has a happy ending for the liberals, and has some offensive language, but it's all in jest and intended for entertainment.  If you're bored and have five minutes, check it out.

Frankie Obama-Feinstein stood poised to strike with her long glorious talons stretched wide.  Her large, obviously jewish nose and puffy white head feathers flared in anger and a long line of glistening saliva drooled from her stubble-covered mouth as she beheld her foes.
    “I don’t care what kind of logical arguments you make, guns are bad and I want them gone!  I’ll detain anyone I want who says otherwise, or I’ll have ‘em killed with a predator drone strike, even if they are American!” the freakish thing declared.
    “But it makes no sense if you look at the facts and stop acting on completely uninformed emotional responses derived from a need to seek justice without blaming criminals!  Do you blame spoons for people being fat?  Or automobiles for DUIs?  Every country that has banned guns still has an increased murder rate, where as countries that have very liberal gun laws like Switzerland have very low crime rates,” one of the enemies patiently explained, as if he were talking to a small child who had a hard time understanding.
    “Firearms make mass-murders easier to accomplish!” Obama-Feinstein raged.  Her six foot four inch frame trembled in outrage, and she shook her feathered head wildly making her large, perfect, voluptuous breasts bounce from side to side in a hypnotizing manner.
    “The largest mass-murders in this country’s history were not committed with firearms!  Arson and box-cutters have done far more damage than any crazed shooter or shooters have ever accomplished, why can’t you see that?” another voice from the crowd asked resignedly.
    “I can, I just choose not to because I don’t have to!  There is no reason for non military or law enforcement to have guns!” Obama-Feinstein shrieked, again stomping in a tantrum that caused those majestic sweater puppies to roll around like two large, perfect field mice in a sock playing with each other.  The wooden floor on which she stood shook under her tirade.
    “They do!  The reason for the second amendment is to have a readily-armed defense force against tyranny and oppression.  It was the second most important right our country’s fore-fathers wanted, so we the people can always protect the rest of our rights,” bellowed an irritated man who was clearly annoyed with trying to reason with someone they found utterly and contemptibly stupid.
    “ENOUGH!” Obama-Feinstein declared.  “I refuse to sit and listen to this anymore!”  She motioned to the secret service agents, who began moving towards the crowd with cold resolve, pulling submachine guns from within their black jackets and flicking the safeties off.
    There was a loud bang, and one of the secret service members fell to the ground, his head blown open like a watermelon that had received the attention of Gallagher.  The shooter, a man standing at the very front of the line, pulled the bolt back on his rifle and chambered another round.  The secret service agents opened fire, spraying rounds into the crowd with their fully automatic weapons.  The crowd began firing back, a strange cacophony of bolts and pumps being cycled, revolver hammers being pulled back.  The man who had fired the first round fired off four more shots while his comrades died around him before he dumped his empty magazine from the bottom of his bolt-action Remington 700.  As he reached into his pocket for another magazine, the man beside him took five rounds in the chest in the blink of an eye while he attempted to shove another shotgun shell into the breach of his pump-action Mossberg 500.  The agent who had shot the man turned towards the man with the rifle who was just cycling back his bolt to chamber another round, and squeezed his finger, slamming another ten rounds into the temerarious mans abdomen before switching to another target and firing.
    Obama-Feinstein grinned stupidly; thick ropy drool falling from her stupid looking face as she intently watched the massacre.  Though the crowd had outnumbered the secret service agents nearly four to one, they were quickly being massacred.  Only a few still stood, defiant to the end.  When it finished, Obama-Feinstein jumped on to the top of the postal truck, and squirted a large blob of white feces onto the hood of the vehicle before jumping in it and driving off, running over a couple of her agents due to her inhibited field of vision through the soiled windshield.
    “That’ll teach those fuckers to defy me!”

This is a really good book for those that have not read it or heard of it. Author is John Ross. A good freind of mine let me borrow it.(he's a avid shooter, former marine and now a deputy in orange county cali.)

This book is a nice blend of fact and fiction. It's a rather long story but a good read. Highly recommend it.

A long slide SAI and a Kimber Target.

Both were nice. The Kimber for me was way more accurate. I absolutly hate the extended slide release on the long slide. And the thumb safety is uncomfortable for me to hold with a high thumb. I really dig the carbon fiber grips on the Kimber. They looked exceptional. It's nice to have an owner with expendable ammo and don't mind continuely getting beat with his own guns. The joys of being an RO I guess.

Chip McCormick 10rd mags work exceptional in both guns. I really like CM mags myself. I haven't had one since I had my Delta Elite. If it isn't WC, a nice mag is definately ones from CM. CM is highly recommended.

The only joy I had today, but it was nice.

In the end my opinion is this; If you are going to get a long slide, make it in a stout caliber like a 10mm or like my 45winmag. Take advantage of the extra weight and sight radius for long range. A 45acp in a long slide isn't that great. I'd take a std government model any day over one in long slide configuration.

I hear everyone talking about this most recent shooting tragedy. A whole bunch of people are ready to make a knee jerk reaction to a problem we are having, without putting any real thought into it. Knee jerk reactions never have any real impact on the problem at hand. People want to blame so called "high capacity" mags and "evil" looking "assault" rifles. None of which I'm really sure as to how they decide what's high capacity, evil or scary, or assault weapons. I don't think I own any of these assault rifles, as none of my rifles on hand have ever assaulted anyone except bad guys printed on paper range targets.
I hear people saying that these tools (that's merely all they are is tools) allow for easy mass killings I strongly disagree. Please pipe in if your opinion differs than mine on what I'm about to say. I believe if I were a spineless coward, like the guy in CT, I could walk into a building full of unarmed innocent victims, armed only with my 1911 and cause just as much carnage. Maybe even more. My 1911 hold only 7 or 8 rounds, depending on the mag. This is less than the 10 round maximum they are calling for. I being armed with only a line 1911 and several 7 or 8 round mags. They claim it would be more difficult to carry out such a mass shooting with something like this, armed with something I've just described. How quickly could I empty a mag in my 1911, push the mag eject button and let it drop to the floor and slap another mag back into the weapon and continue blasting? I don't even really practice quick mag changes, but I'm more than sure I could accomplish this reload in less than a second.
So I'm simply not buying all this BS that's being spilled.
I really think I could accomplish similar results with a revolver and several speed loaders.
I do not mean to come off the wrong way. This was a tradgedy and I'm hurt by the deaths if these innocent victims from a mere coward. Yes I say coward. People say he wasn't a coward be ause he was prepared to die. I disagree. Only a spineless coward would go in a kill unarmed innocent children, regardless if he was prepared to die or not. Only good to come if this is there's one less spineless coward in the world right now. Yes that may be cold, but I've no remorse for this gunman. It would have been nice if a LEO or somebody could have turned his forehead into a canoe with a well placed shot from a .357 magnum or maybe a .45, but I'll take it.
I really hate to even say this, but we all know Obama and Biden are anti-gun as they come anyways. I feel both are of the upmost worst moral character there is. I really wouldn't be surprised if somehow this was orgistrated by them or someone else highly placed, in order to Sid in the anti-gun push.

I just found out that alcohol and first person shooter games on Xbox 360 do not mix. Although I'm not drunk, I do have a mellow buzz and I am getting my ass handed to me!! I can now understand how much alcohol impairs your abilities. I'm noramall fairly good, but not now. I can see how alcohol effects your physical abilities in a way I never really realized before.
I have been guilty if drinking and driving or riding in the past and I regret it. But I never really realized until now how slow my reflexes really are when buzzed. I can only imagine it being much more effected my reflexes must be with more.
Yes, I am enjoying some of my apple pie receipe.

Okay this isn't easy for me. I'm not wild about unions because I've been screwed over in the past by one I was member of. I felt like the NRA is a union of sorts and it is hard for me to trust them. That is how I feel so please don't argue with me about it. However in these turbulant times and that Mother F***er, son of a B***** President of ours pisses me off more than anyone has ever pissed me off before. I simply cannot stand my ground alone and I'm compelled to do something about it. I joined the NRA today. I went with their installment plan for life membership. Even as broke as I am, I should be okay with the terms of payment. It is my hope by doing so I play a small part in protecting our Consitutional Rights and put this dictator on notice. Well if this whole LEO thing doesn't work out, I'm considering going to gun smithing school. I'm already the go to guy at the range for anything about gun problems. I should be getting paid for this. Over and above my duties as a RO I'm constantly getting called to fix something, bore sight something, work on something. One thing is for sure I've got experiance with about everything out there. Might be a Mauser in the morning, a Kalashnikov by lunch, a M1 Garand in the afternoon and countless ARs during the rest of the day. Half the time I haven't got a clue, but I'm mechanical enough to figure it out. 1911's I'm doing to. Occasionally Glocks where the owner didn't put it together right.

I tell you guys, there is a lot of guns out there and eventually I have someone with a problem begging for help. It has got to be a fairly civil living, because no one seems to know much and haven't the ability.

Four states exceeded one million Federal Bureau of Investigation NICS checks; Kentucky, Texas, California and Illinois. Kentucky is the only state to exceed two million background checks.

So today I'm at work and I got called to the office. There was a detective there and i was asked to speak to him. Turns out they picked up this guy and he was a felon in possession of a firearm. He looked familiar, but I immediately recognised him from my range when I learned what firearm he had on him, a Ruger MKII with a bull barrel. I link guns to people pretty well. A MKII isn't really the norm and this guy seemed a little off. Not in a crazy way, but really quite and distant. They linked him back to my work from receipts in his vehicle. I was asked a few questions regarding him and I answered with what I could remember of him. I guess there is some indication that this fella was intending to kill someone, so there is an on going investigation.

Talk about close to home. Guess I'm going to get my concealed permit very soon.

I was asked the other day about a rumor they had heard about the current day ammunition. They said that the rumor was that ammunition manufacturers were using degrading primers in their ammo.Their was no mention of a certain manufacturer ,but that the shelf life was 6 to 8 months before the ammunition became useless.
I kept thinking about this and I thought surely the manufacturers have not gone to bed with the Liberal Pukes in Washington.
Has anyone heard this? Usually when there are problems around us generally "The grapevine" can really hurt the situation.

A Wauwatosa officer was shot and killed over night, suspect(s) still at large. Wauwatosa is less than an hour away from me and I have friends that live there. This really lays heavy on my heart. While I didn't know Officer Sebena I'm sure she was a fine officer. Wauwatosa has a good department in a nice community. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family. This is not the news I wanted today when I logged on.

She was gunned down in cold blood. So there is a cop killer amounst us here. I feel like justice can't be swift enough. This is bullshit!!!

In other related news an officer was killed today in Texas and 4 firefighters were shot two killed by a gunman in Webster, NY.

I've enjoyed a couple of margaritas earlier this evening and have now broken the seal on some of Junior Johnson's Blackberry Midnight Moon. I put it up in the freezer earlier to let it get good and cold first. Very tasty! On some evenings. I like a small glass of B&B over ice. Hello friends, It's been a long while since I've posted much but I haven't lost interest in or forgotten about this forum, or in my M1A. I've been through a bit of a stressful time trying to decide which path to take in my career. I was considering leaving my employer of 28 years to go to work for a much larger multinational corporation and have been preocupied with making the best choice. Things worked out to my satisfaction and all's well now. I took some time out to go deer hunting again this year and this was the first year that my aging father wasn't there to share the experience with me. I did however, enjoy it and having my camper completely to myself was actually pretty nice, but I did miss Dad's company. It's just too rough a terrain for his worn old legs to negotiate anymore. I had bought an older M14 walnut stock off of ebay and modified it a little to make it fit me better in winter clothing and I shot a spike buck with it. I was very pleased with my Springfield's performance and it was a great feeling to harvest a deer with it. I used some 150 grain Winchester power max commercial ammunition and was very pleased with it's performance. It reminded me a lot of the old style silvertip ammo of years ago. Anyhow, I hope you're all doing well, and have a wonderful holiday season!

I've been watching movies here and i thought I'd share my take.

#1 I watched "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter". I hate vampires and like Abe Lincoln. It actually wasn't bad. Lots of slaughtering vampires and actually a good story line.

#2 I watched "MIB3". Not as good as the first movie but it wasn't bad. Same sort of film.

#3 I watched "The Expendables 2" Again not as good as the first for me, but I totally dig Chuck Norris and his role in the movie. So I loved it. Some funny one liners.

#4 I watched the the Halo4 movie, "Forward into Dawn." If you like Halo, you'd probably like the movie. I liked it, but I'm a gamer at heart.

#5 I watched "Werewolf- The beast among us" Great movie. I love wolves and werewolf movies. In this one there is a big twist that I really enjoyed. I'm currently watching it a second time in it's unrated version. One scene caused me to jump the first time. Love it...

#6 I watched an interesting movie "Safety Not Guaranteed" It was a goofy romantic sort of movie. It was really deep actually. I enjoyed the hidden meaning.

So anyway that is what I've been up to. Any further review, just ask.

I brought my M1A to the gunsmith last Tuesday morning to get a new scope mounted on it.  I asked time frame and he said Thursday or Friday. I was excited about that, I wanted it for the weekend. Thursday I brought in a qd stud so he could throw it on the stock since he would have it apart.... He knew it was likely coming.

I asked him how it was coming and he said he was going to try and get at it Monday or Tuesday.  I didn't say anything at the time but now I'm thinking.... It's a simple scope mount and qd stud install, how long can that take?  He's now had my rifle for a week and I'm fairly annoyed.

I know gunsmiths can be quirky with time and such, but I also toyed with the idea of installing the scope myself.  I went with him because he said it would be done by last weekend...

Is it in poor taste to go see him Wednesday morning and pick up my rifle and scope if he hasn't touched it yet?

I decided to get back into plastic modeling on a rather limited basis recently.

And I picked up on a kit I left kind of high and dry in 2010 before the Ex buried the knife in to the hilt.

Finally new boots

After failure of my Bates boots practically right away. I limped them to complete failure this summer. I went back to my old pair of Redwings that weren't much better, but at least my foot wasn't sticking out the sides of them. They almost look fairly new, but my foot showing without a sole in spots didn't do much for me in the rain.ho
So tonight I took what money I had and bought new boots. I went to the store and spent about 10mins shopping. This time I bought Corcoran. I got speed laces and a rugged side zip 8" upper for $160. It seems like a pretty nice boot. The tread is agressive and pretty stiff, but that is what I wanted. I'm tired of having a nail poke me in the foot and my feet hanging out in 3 months. They seem comfortable enough. We'll see just how my feet are tomorrow after I wear them. At least they will be dry.

Our DNR here in Wisconsin has issued Socom 16 rifles. I hear today they are in the process of replacing them with AR15 rifles. I asked why. Well they cannot afford ammo for the socoms. So let me get this straight, you'd replace the socom with a puke 223 AR. Why not buy cheaper Ammo? They cannot because policy dictates what ammo they have to buy, and it is $$$$. Take about stupid. So their used Socoms will be traded in on AR15 rifles in order to save money on ammo, but the trade will cost money more thaqn the ammo savings. I said well at least support a Wisconsin based company and go BCM. No they cannot because they seem to think S&W will give a better deal. I doubt that highly, being they want what S&W doesn't offer off the shelf. Someone somewhere is a brainless idiot.

I also gather they have gone green with lead free ammo. Not very well liked.

They were shooting after hours on our range and I asked if they could spot me a box or two of 45acp and I'd run there coarse with them. Sorry wish we could but we don't have 45acp, only 9mm and 40S&W. Get out of here I said. I notice you having a had time knocking over the steel targets with your 40s, and they replied it isn't the 40 so much as it is with the lighter "green loads." They claim there smooth bore 12ga 870s can't hit anything passed 25yds with the new loads accurately and cost twice as much.

All I can say is I'm pissed. I do pay taxes and that blows. Who the f' sets policy? I know the DNR isn't popular, but shit, they'd be better off with a bow and arrow.

I don't know if these are people or "bots", but if they're bots, are they programmed to make user accounts, post BS, and then log off? We're getting overrun with this BS as you guys know. I'm doing my best to control it and disable posting priveliges for spammers, but they are relentless lately.
Have you guys ever visited the member's list? I'd check it out. I wonder about members with user names like "baoaaoayq" and "ycxochubitu", they've made one post or no posts at all. Those sound funny to me, as all the regular posting members it seems have names that have proper dicipherable phonics and sound like names/places/guns/hobbies.

Today I went to buy an AR15 lower unit, and as required I filled out the form 4473, but I omitted my SSN. The NICS examiner asked for the last four digits of my SSN, and I declined. I received a "conditional non-approval"

Boy, was I confused. My record is lilly white, and I NEVER received anything but an approval.

The SSN section of the form is OPTIONAL so I left it blank.

I INSISTED they call back (for another $5.00 fee) and this time I gave the last four digits of my SSN.

This time I received an APPROVAL on the transaction.

I'm confused and pissed at this turn of events. I "thought" that the DOJ or Congress made laws concerning purchase and transfer of firearms, this to me is clearly legislating. Does ATF / NICS have the AUTHORITY to change requirements detailed on federal form 4473?

I'm in a creative fiction writing class this semester, and I just finished my first assignment. If anyone's willing to read it, it's 10 pages with 1.5 spacing. I'd appreciate some input, even negative, as long as it's got a point. I'm not looking for a story change, just criticism on the actual writing. Is there something that seems unnecessary, too drawn out at some point, the dialogue doesn't seem believable, or maybe something seems underdeveloped?

With being refered to as a lone wolf constantly, the stir hunting of them here has caused, my love for the creatures, I have been looking into having wolves in the family. Now Wisconsin say no to purebreed wolves, but has zero regulation on hybrids. Interesting to me.
Looking at what it would take in being an owner currently my situation isn't going to work. However in time hopefully that should change. I want a homestead with land. A good amount of land. I'd like to hobby farm and have a little fun. I think having a wolf in the family other than myself would be great for me.
I know quite a bit about wolf behavior, it's something I find interesting. Ironically I behave much like a wolf myself, so I guess being called one isn't too far from the truth.

Just something I would like to do in the future. As a kid I helped with raising a mountain lion and that was really a treat. You have no idea how strong they are! Them cats are fiercely powerful even in adolescents. Pretty awesome to have been in an enclosure playing with one.

I like animals the best. Way better than most humans imo. What is intense about a wolf is their look. Dogs you can often tell how they feel or what they are going to do by their eyes. Wolves look right through you. You cannot tell really if they are going to be friendly or kill you. A look I haven't quite perfected. But people still find it's hard to read my thoughts.

Going to have to be the alpha and establish that. Reaffirming it often. about 18 months or so wolves will start challenging. Mom says her dog is a holly terror when I'm not around. She is an angel when I am. My dogs know who is boss. But with a Wolf it is a different sort of training. One has to be quite, which I like to be. Yelling won't work. Wolves like to be in your face. Rocket my lab is that way, I'm used to it. Watching the Wolf Guy with his wolves that is how I am with my dogs now. I show my teeth and growl if they are testing me. Hell I'll even bit if they get to frisky.

I'm not entirely sure I trained the dogs or they trained me. It's a bond though. Something that doesn't work with humans at all. I start making money I just might be in a position to have a pert wolf partner. I hope for the day because being alone does blow.

Okay so I'm in this class. I figure it would be good stuff to know and some PDs require it. So here I am and so is this incredible gal. You guys would be tripping over your tongues and pole vaulting with your 3rd leg. She is smoking hot! Yes I'm interested, but I believe she is with someone. However she chooses to pair up with me. She is prior duty enlisted (army) Iraq/Afgan vet. Tonight we actually got a little personal talking after class.
She is working on being a firefighter/EMT.

Today we had to practice medical assessments. So we got to feel each other up basically from head to toe.I'm telling you boys, I enjoyed it. Now tits wise a little big for my taste, but not that big. On her back they stood out more. They're very nice indeed. Quite perky actually. I did enjoy being on top, but she was on top also and I really did not mind. She is in her late 20s I believe, but maybe 30ish. Anyway I just thought I'd share. I'm quite taken by her and enjoy her company. Perfect body and shorter hair like I like. She has piercings and tats to boot. Good lord she looks so freaking awesome it's hard to contain any sort of professionalism.. In my book she scores a 10. Sad part is I don't even know her name. LOL, but I will find out. And no matter what I will try not to flunk out so we can work together more.

John was a Marine who did two tours in Nam, WI State Patrol for 20years ret, a teacher, and above all else a damn good friend. He crashed his ultralight plane I guess and died Wednesday.

I'll miss the guy, I really will.

I just found out that my youngest cousin on my Moms side is on his way back to prison.

I've been haunting the PX over there and have had some good luck lately.

Heres a run down of some of the new acquisitions:

-782 Gear set up for the 16, just got an M1956 buttpack to go on it. I also added two extra mag pouches to up the useful load out to 12 mags, two canteeen are next in OD covers.

-Leupold LR/T 3.5-10X40 TMR scope for my EBR

-3 Magpul PMAGs and a new Grip-pod

And elsewhere I've added a smaller bag to my three day assault pack to extend its use to 5 or more days depending on how I pack it.

Anyway since the me and the EX parted ways last March (2011) atleast I'm getting to see where my doughs goin, LOL

Zombie Shoot

We had the first ever Zombie shoot at our range today. A lot of shooters attended it. I was off today so I participated in it. There was 2 divisions one being iron sights only, the other being optics. Originally it was going to be AR rifles only, but later the shoot was changed all.

Iron sight division shot targets at 50/100 yards. And optics division shot 100/200 yards 5min shot strings of 10 rounds offhand at each yardage. Scores were low. Pt values were 10pts for head shots, 2pts for body shot and -5 points for misses. Pretty much headshots or nothing. The head of the Zombie maybe 5". Let me tell you it was hard as hell to hit.

I was disappointed in my score, but adding peoples scores I soon found I was actually 2nd place in my divsion. I was beat by 5pts. I couldn't win it anyway officially being an employee. I was quite happy.
So happy after my slaying of Zombies, I had a victory twinkee. lol

One Jr shooter with his 17hmr. Zach is a really good shooter. He really has a gift for a 12yo I believe he is. The MarineCorps will come a knocking for him. He really earned my respect.

Tops shooters,,,you guessed it,,,we all are Marines. So rule #8 of Zombieland of finding a kissass partner, find a Marine.

More Shootings

This time in New York. I know it has be said and that person was condemed for saying it, but I sort of feel the same. I find it convient these shooting all of a sudden taking place in an election year and gun control is on the table. Directly or indirectly them rats in DC are probably behind it all.

Isn't it interesting all these acts of violence hare as of late happen were no one else is armed. By god do I feel like a walking target without my shooter. I hate not having it. The bullet with your name on it can strike at any moment. Be it a car speeding down a street or a heart attack. Somethings you just got to hope for the best and do all that you can not to have them happen. Crazy gunmen are something I have zero control over, but if faced by one, it is damn good to be armed to protect myself and others that might be in harms way. Not to live in fear.

Okay, so I've been kinda scarce here the last two weeks.

Well starting on the 9th of August I came off of my short vacation to sell parking passes to this years up-coming Seniors. I got to where I was set up to sell over an hour before I was set to start selling, just so I could have some peace and quiet before the mad rush. I'd been there ten minutes and I had a knock at the door.
You shouldve seen the look I got when I told the young lady that she'd have to wait over an hour before I would sell her a pass. After that the line started to grow, and I mean it grew FAST. By seven-thirty that morning I had upwards of 60 parents and kids waiting for me to open the doors.
To start things off I laid down the law before I opened the school up, I made it very clear to the crowd that their registration cards were to be filled out properly or theyd go to the back of the line, I would register three of them at a time at my table, the line started at the stanchion where they signed for the numbered spot they wanted, and that if I could hear them over my radio they would all wait outside until the three students I was helping were done and I would only let three in at a time.
It went so smooth I couldnt believe it, and I only had to correct the group two times. Once for where the front of the line was crowding the start line and once for their registration cards missing a signiture.
The first day was the busiest, I made over four thousand dollars, everyday following was much slower and much less crowded.

Officially the faculty came back this Monday, the 20th. Which was a pretty good day all things considered. We had a big turn-over between the end of last year and the beginning of this one. Thirty-five new faces.
The 21st it was all check the box training and I had to teach a class on Code 300's, Active Shooter incidents. Instead of just the video we're required to watch by the state, I showed it and another that showed how theres no way to profile the people that might be active shooters.
I spent the better part of an hour explaining changes in the role law enforcement has in the event of an active shooter. The up side to the class was that alot of teachers that are new, feel alot more comfortable here because of the way I taught the class and how I explained things, the down side was the state required video garnered alot of criticism because its so dry and outdated.
I even explained the reason there are certian things in the bags the teachers have for critical incidents. I dont think they'd given alot of thought to some of the things in the bags until Tuesday. So hopefully they all took something away from my instruction.
That evening we had new student orientation and open house. It was alot better than last year and it seemed to go faster. I think it had alot to do with the fact that I got dress in something other than my usual duty uniform. You guys have no idea how fast an even can go when youre not wearing 20 pounds of duty gear.

The rest of the week has been about normal, for lack of a better word. But with no kids in the school its almost like a vacation in and of itself. LOL

Recently an acquaintance lost a VERY good deal on a gun and I told him why.

It was an old pristine first year of production collectible Colt Commander IN THE BOX. It's price was a silly $450 and WELL worth it. He tried to chew the guy down and wound up pissing him off because the owner KNEW it not only was worth the asking price, but even more.

While the acquaintance was standing nearby a collector of Colts came in and said "how much?" (the gun had no price on it) The store owner made a stupid high price mark at $800 and the guy bought it on the spot.

My motto is "never look a gift hoses in the mouth" if a price is fair, buy it. For something I REALLY want the potential of saving a 10, 20 or $50 bill won't be as good as not missing the deal altogether.

Of course there are things we can't really afford, but if that's the case, saving that 10, 20 or $50 isn't going to really help our financial matters... quite the opposite spending what we can't afford in the first place makes matters worse.

I LOVE B-I-N prices on EBAY, and get most of my stuff well below retail because I KNOW a good deal and beat a LOT of folks to great things by paying a fair price.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims.. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.
Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008.
Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the tru th of all this, the better.
If you Don't care that Your President is not a natural born Citizen and in Violation of the Constitution, then Delete this, and then lower your American Flag to half-staff, because the U.S. Constitution is already on life-support, and won't survive much longer.

Okay on another forum I spend time on, I got PMed months ago by a guy and he wanted to know about the rail gun. Really interested in the rail gun. So we pm'ed a lot back and forth for months. When it came to him buying a new 1911 it wasn't a rail gun, it was something else. No PM's anymore, no nothing. Dropped me like the Colt he never bought. Is it wrong of me to hope the gun he bought falls apart? It probably is, but that is sort of how I feel. Why waste all my time if he was going to buy something else? I hate people.

I started talking to a really good looking older (40) woman last night. We talked for about two hours, once early in the afternoon and later on in the evening.

As we closed the later conversation she told me she'd be calling me later today, so I thought, thats great, cause I liked her alot, the Spanish accent really got me goin, lol.

So, she calls me tonight and proceeds to tell me that she doesnt want to go any further with me because she feels I'm not open enough because I didnt send her a message or an e-mail that thanked her for the great talks we had yesterday.

I was sitting there listening to her, thinking to myself, 'Youre F'n kidding me right". I mean you need an e-mail telling you thank you for the talk on the phone its clear that I like you when I told you that about every five minutes for the whole damn hour?

I just told her to do what youre comfortable with, since I was just tryinng not to be overbearing when I knew she was gonna be calling back tonight.

Oh well, lifes to short and I aint playin no friggin games.

Well I finally picked up my new gun safe I was telling you guys about a couple months ago or whenever it was. I had put it in layaway and picked it up today. What a fiasco!!!
Started with my wife and I went to TSC and finished paying for it. The cashier said go to the back and tell the guys back there. She paged them to let them know we were coming back there.
They had a whole bunch of merchandise off the sales floor. The cashier said they were doing something to the floor. We get back there and all the stuff from the floor is in the warehouse. The dude back there says " oh there's no way we can get your safe out today". I was like BULLSH!T!!!!! I told him I was taking the safe today and that I had people waiting at my house to help me get it in. My wife said something to the fact that all the stuff being in the way wasn't our problem. After the dude realized I had every intention of taking the safe home today. He said to give him about 30 minutes to move all the stuff out the way, so he could get to the safe. There's more to the story, but that's the jest of it.
They load it with a forklift in my truck and I get it home. I don't know how long it took three of us to get it in and down in my basement, but it wasn't fast. That darn thing is freakin HEAVY!!! It was a job getting that thing in my basement. I'm sore all over. I feel like I've been in the loosing in of a fight.
I sat it on 4x4s. It came with concrete anchors, but I'm not going to anchor it. I'd like to see some poor SOB try and carry that thing back up my stairs and out my house. It's not happening. If we ever move, this thing may have to become a permanent fixture in this house. I know if we do move, there's no way I'm moving it. I'd have to hire somebody. Otherwise, it's staying. If you guys have gun safe plans in the future, here's my advise. Make sure you have enough people. We could have used a 4th person. Use a appliance dolly. I only had a regular dolly. And lastly, make sure your health insurance is up to date and have your helpers, sign a waver. Lol

So I'm building this massive series of ponds. Complete with a waterfall and everything on about 4-5 arces. Damn thing is almost done and the owner brought in so called "experts" Now they had massive ideas and suggestions and the owner now wants this different. It already is an engineering marval like the Great f***ing Pyramids, but at least they had 1000s of slaves and many years to complete. I'm one guy with one little machine! I'm so god damn pissed! Sucessful eye surgery

When I first started firing the M1A I was considering purchasing a scope to help in distance firing.  I only fire for fun and have confined myself to 100  yard ranges.  I have located a range that allows you to go out to 1000 yard
going from 200,300,600, and then 1000.  Prio to finding this range I was using NRA Reduced range targets. The problem here is the reduced targets do not need any change in elevation or windage.

I was diagnoised with cartaracts a few months ago and dedided to have them removed.  The pysician indicated he could also correct my distance visison to 20-20.  The only problem was that no insurance paid for it.  I immediately told him I would pay for it.  His fee was $600 per eye  and an additional $300 for the lens. He implanted Toric Lens's in both eyes. I now  have 20-15 vision in my shooting eye and 20-20 in the left eye.  The vision I now have is unbelievable.

If glasses and contacts are problematic then you might want to discuss the "Toric" lens option with an ophthalmologist.

I was just curious as to what other are using as hearing protection at the range??
I use a combination of different protections. I wear ear plugs when shooting long guns and earmuffs when shooting handguns.
The reason I switch, earmuffs when shooting long guns, does in fact change your cheek weld. Ear plugs do not.
I use ear plugs that are attached on a string or at least usually. I prefer those anyways. I can pull them out during a cease fire and they drape around my neck. I have access to a wide variety of ear plugs, so I'm able to try different kinds to find what I like best.
What are you guys using??

My wife and I just returned from picking up dinner at Chik-Fil-A, ingot our protests against those who have spoken out against their company and CEO. That place was PACKED!! There was literally hundreds of cars inline. We parked and got in line to go inside. We asked the girl at the counter about the number of employees they had working and she said every single employee they had was working at that time.
I was actually surprised, from the time we first got in line, until we had our food was about 50 minutes or so. Not bad really considering the amount of people that were there.

Ok, I'm putting a JAE 100 stock onto my Socom 16 and I want to get rid of the 4" picantinny that comes on the Socom. Its too far forward for what I want to do and gets damn hot after a few rounds.

My question is: Is there anything I need to worry about when taking the rail off and then putting a different handgard on??? There are several screws that hold it in place.

Talk about a broad spectrum for a post.

As for me, I mostly collect military knives and bayonets. Namely US blades if I can get them.

I have one for each of my US rifles and shotguns that can take them, the others I have a USGI Kabar.

I wish I could find a V42 Stiletto, or a replica made to the specs of the original, hell even a British COmmando knife would be nice to hide away on my person, if only I could remember who still makes them the old fashioned way.

I started gettin hot and heavy on my "incliment weather" bag

I plan on having enough in it to live with a clean pair of skivies, socks, t-shirts, for 5 days. As well as toiletries, first aid, towels(1 possibly two of them), one canteen (with something other than water in it), batteries, asprin, spare magazines and some other things.

I got Listerine, Wet-wipes, Chlorox sanitizing wipes, new toothbrush and holder, three small tubes of toothpaste, walmart brand aspirin and two razors.

Next on the list is closeable soap dish and a full size bar of soap, then it'll be time for the other stuff.

I've this old crook neck light since 2009 when I was in the NCNG and it was a shiney shade of FDE.

So I dug out rattle can of ultra-flat black paint and a roll of 1 inch masking tape. My initila efforts gave me a kind of splinter look with the plastic color still pretty dominant over all.

Today I went and got three more cans of color, khaki, deep forest green and earth brown.

I re-masked the black and tore some ragged sections of tape to cover a few sections of the base color to make a patchwork pattern.

I got some over-spray and light sections where the FDE plastic shows thru, but I like the rough look and the not perfectly masked sections.

Bayonets

I just got back from the gunshow and I was surprised to see more non-AR stuff there. Although they did have it in great numbers though. I was looking for a USGI bayonet for my M1A, since my new flash suppressor has a lug. I thought I had found a smokin deal on some at this one table. I think he had like 5 of them. They came with a sheath and were $55 each. The problem was, they were fakes. I asked the guy if they were repros and he said no, they were original. Start with, I've never seen a USGI M14 bayonet in a black sheath. I've only ever seen green. I asked him about it and he said some were issued black. I was thinking " f'ing liar"!! I looked at the blades and they were poorly made with cheap steel. Obvious fakes and not even good fakes. He told me he would knock $10 off the price. I told him politely I wasn't interested in buying a fake USGI bayonet. He was adimate that they were real. I saw no point in arguing, so I left his table.
I'm not a bayonet expert by any means. But I've been around enough and served in the military, so I've some idea of the difference between a repro and a USGI bayonet. I'm ok with buying a repro, if it's a quality repro. But I'm not going to pay the price for a repro, that I would for a USGI. I'm a bit insulted that this dude was trying to rip me off with his cheap azz Chinese or whatever junk!!
I did find some real USGI bayonets at another table for $65, but I think I can get one in much better shape for the same money. These bayonets were a little rough. So I will wait and get one another day. I did get some .45acp ammo boxes and a .45acp 228gr bullet mold. So I still had fun!!

Pawn/Gun Shop Visit

I went to my local fun shop today since I havent been there in a while and they had a pretty respectable selection, all things considered.

One Supermatch in a walnut stock, like 6 AR's, some mil-surps and four pre-64 Winchester Model 94 lever guns.

The Supermatch was 2400+ dollars. They had a put together S&W M&P-15(S&W lower/R Guns upper) used for $1145, yeash. A put together Colt Delta (Large pin Colt lower, small pin Colt upper) didnt look at the price, and two new M4 style rifles one Bushmaster the other DPMS.

They had a really nice Russian M44, for 300 dollars, nice but not THAT nice.

The Model 94s were really nice, all top eject models, one in 32 Special, if I'd had 400 dollars one of the .30-30's wouldve come home with me.

I've been catching a lot of reruns this week and it is really amazing to me how such a simple format can show so much about the good and the bad of any firearm they feature. It's especially interesting to hear about the historical bits behind some of the more obscure weapons they feature, but I think my favorite aspect is how revealing it is to see what real world accuracy looks like (not every historic rifle was good for killing tin cans at 1000 yards). They cover practical capabilities, pros & cons, they even retired an old Webley revolver when none of them could make it hit anything! New players on every episode bring the relevant knowledge and counter it with expertise from the other end of the spectrum. Hell, Colby is even getting trigger lessons! It's just a great program.

If you like rum, order it. I had one Saturday and went back today an ordered 4 more. I'm so fubar. It looks like a Caribbean sunset, tastes like pineapple, a hint of orange and banana, but it will knock you out. It is awesome!!! It's one of those that will blow your head off like a 44mag and you'll never know it was going to happen. I love rum in my tum. I'm so incredibly happy right now I'm about game for about anything. hehehehaha, weeee. lol... Next Saturday, yeah. More than 4 I'm going to get a ride because at 2 of them I'm pushing past legal I'm sure.

Co-workers say it is gay to drink such drinks in there presence, but that doesn't matter to me. I'd drink those all night. It needs an umbrella though. I'll get some next time for the bar. Kick ass...

Sorry I haven't been on much the last couple of days. I worked a double yesterday and today. I've been unable to really get on while at work. Thanks to AT&T and their sh!tty service, my Internet and texting ability has been very limited. Tomorrow, we are headed down to Kentucky Speedway for the Cup race. Go JR!!! Or Stewart, I will take a win by either. As long as the winner doesn't have Busch for a last name, it will be a good race. I've never been to KY Speedway, so I'm pumped about going. Last night on a COPS episode a guy without ID was stopped. The officer checked him out on the radio and the guy who was "supposed" to be Alphonse had tattoos on his forearms.

In order to try and ID the guy the officer said "Show me your forearms" and the guy answered "I only have two arms" I laughed my ass off :-)

The officer said, "He got a ticket AND a lesson in anatomy"

Our attorney general the top law enforcement officer in our country is lying through his damn teeth about this operation. hell roger clemens just went through a trial for lying to congress about steroids. this is a bunch of bullshit. a border agent killed countless mexicans killed by these guns allowed to walk across our border on purpose. where is justice for the Terry family a year later? no one has been fired or even blamed for this fiasco.

this operation was designed to gain momentum for more anti gun laws.

and now president obama has put executive privilige on the documents that chairman issa has been demanding 8 months. this smells of a huge coverup.

if this were bush they would be demanding impeachment proceedings already.

Firearms cleaning and maintenance

Lately I've been noticing the level of care others take of their firearms. Maybe I shouldn't say lately, I've noticed this for quite awhile. But lately I've actually been giving it some thought. There are alot of gun owners out there that do not know how to properly care for their firearms. I'm not sure if it's laziness, not caring, don't know how or a combination of some or all of the above. Do these people not understand the importance of proper maintenance??
Maybe I'm being too anal, I'm not sure. Those of us that's served in the military know how much weapons maintenance was stressed and for good reason. Your weapon is your life. There are so many CCW and Firearm Defensive classes out there. Just as important, there needs to be as many maintenance classes. These are just my thoughts, some may disagree with me. I believe that here with at least with the core members, we all understand and have enough knowledge to properly care for our firearms. Now our methods may vary on how we achieve results, but the fundamentals are the same. Thoughts??

I just finished cleaning out and leveling the mulch bed on the side of my house. My back is killing me and I've sweated more than I care to at any given time. I'm spent!! Hunter Ed is over for now. I was asked if I wanted to help out by the local PD a while back and I told them sure. So last week I took time off from work and was conducting classes with a bunch of instructors and LEO. It was really fun for me. I enjoy teaching and I enjoy kids. There was a lot of pictures taken and unfortunatly I'm in many. Damn pavarazzi, I swear! I hate photos, but it was for a good cause. Maybe I'll get them emailed to me so I can post a few for you guys.

Today was the final day, the range shoot. Man that is a good time. Our students have already passed their written and practical, so this is for fun. I had some shooters on the trap and skeet range. The kids did well. I'm looking over their shoulder giving them pointers and it was birds exploding in the air. Nothing better than seeing their huge smiles. Proud parents everywhere, it was a great day. I'm glad to do my part.

Hunter Ed is something we all volunteer for. It's people donating their time and knowledge in helping mostly young people get certified and being able to enjoy the sport of hunting. It is a huge day for them. You have to be 16 to drive a car, but here in Wisconsin 10 years old they can carry a firearm. It is a huge responsibility. One all of us instructors take seriously. We did not have any failures, but in the past I have. If the child or adult isn't safe, they don't pass. It is the way it has to be. I'm proud of these kids, and I'm proud to have been their instructor and I'm sad that it is over for now.

I got a thumbs up from the PD for rocking as an instructor. I worked hard, as did we all, but I took the lead in public speaking. I did almost all the oral presentations. I did not expect to, it was last minute. I really don't mind public speaking, I enjoy it when I know the topic, but I'm really good at ad-lib. More than once in college I had to give a speech on something, I didn't have a plan or even a topic until I was at the podium. I went with it and always had a captive audience. I enjoy it. I'll never be a Ronald Reagan, but I'd crush George W. in a speech.

So I'm sure those of you in other states have the opportunity to be instructors. I recommend you give it a try, if you can. All of us here are a wealth of knowledge in our areas of expertise. Give back if you can. The rewards last a lifetime.

I think on the return trip from my weekly trash run I think I'll pick up another paket of beef for stewing and a pound of lean ground beef.

I'll thaw out the broth from my last slow cooking session for the cut beef and let it cook all day. And for the lean ground beef I'll brown it and season to taste with season salt, garlic powder and little bit of salt. The add a small can of tomato sauce and a container of Pace Mild Pecante sauce and let it simmer until it bubbles on low heat.

The enjoy it with a bag of white corn chips and a nice cold beer........................................

I went to Wilmington today to have lunch and do some shooting with a few people I met on thru the North Carolina Gun Owners Association.

We met up at Andy Burgers and Fries off of Hwy 17 and went to Shooters Choice after to do alittle shooting.

I wound up take'n my SA Inc Loaded 1911 and issue Glock plus about 300 rounds between the two of them.

All total we had about 20 people show up.

One guy from Wilmington brought this super cute and smart Asian girl, who happens to be a Gunny with the PAO Office at MCAS New River. And brothers let me tell YOU, was she something.

I would up spending most of my time there with her and watching her shoot both of my pistols. And boys, this little lady was DEADLY with everything up to a .44 Magnum.

Before it was all over and we (the whole group not me and her LOL ) went outside and I did alittle show and tell with some of the rifles I brought and couldnt shoot since we were at a handguns only indoor range. And I think I scored a date with this cute little Gunny a week from tomorrow up here at the range I shoot at.

Once they pictures get posted at the NCGOA web page I'll poost them here so you guys can see.

All in all it was a damn good afternoon.

Been a stranger for a bit - sorry. Been pinching pennies and finally got over to Cabela's nearby to get the 168Gr Match Grade ammo I've been impatiently waiting to get so I can compare with the 150Gr I've tried so far. (Have only experimented with 150 so far - need to try 168.) Needed to get out of state fishing licenses for family for upcoming getaway and was able to use the magic pass phrase with my wife to get some Match Grade stuff while there - "Honey it's on SALE!"
So I've been saving and been crazy busy but I get the lawn mowed and the house cleaned and I have another day off after that day's work and the weather is PERFECT and I don't see any cars as I approach the range (cars have to park outside the gate) and I'm loving it until I pull up closer and see the interior lot FULL of cars. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Turns out the local tech college is doing range training (until midnight no less). Talked to a couple great guys going for their LE degrees which is always a good thing but drove home broken hearted! Going out of town for a week this Sunday but will definitely do a serious range update when I shoot the 168. Might be a couple days yet.
Quick question - should I bring some expendable (cheaper) ammo to shoot a few rounds first? Sounds like some people recommend not relying on the accuracy of the first couple shots from a clean cold barrel...is there anything to that?

Since the M21 is basically done. I find myself kind of at a turning point. As I apply for LEO jobs and hope someone calls, I find myself thinking sidearms. I patiently wait for my Colt to be done. At the range I shoot everything under the sun. I'm digging pistols right now and it sure was fun cutting out the X-ring with one the other day. One of the other ROs is shooting IPSC. I'd like to shoot something to. I really enjoyed IDPA. But just practicing on my own would be nice. I want my 1911 back. I need a new holster for it though. Oh the joy, but it's fun. Time to work on something else for a while I think.

On my way back from the range I stopped to run an errand or two and I got some beef cut for stewing to cook in the frozen marinate I used for my last London Broil. Its in a sauce pan on the stove a I write this.
In the oven a BIG spud I'm bake'n to go with it.
And in about two and a half to three hours everything oughta be ready.

I have a buddy thats a Gunny up the school house in Oceana. Me and him went on the first WESTPAC of the new century back in 2000 and now his family lives here and he comes back on the weekends and we get together to catch up on ocassion.

So today we're goin shooting and he's bringing his boys with him. I decided to bring one of my No4 MkII's and my "been there, done that" M 91/30.

So I'm try'n a variation on last weeks post about "dinnner". I bought the same type of beef cut for stewing and then cut into slightly smaller pieces. I did all this as the forzen broth thawed out in the slow cooker and I moxed some A1 marinate, Worchestershire sauce, and a table spoon of KC's Masterpiece Steakhouse Marinate to go with it.

Now the beef is in the slow cooker to cook over night on low and see how it comes out tomorrow.

I've decided to keep my Remington SP10 shotty. I love it too much. With the super fantastic news Colt will build me a custom 10mm upon funds, I'm in no hurry to buy the stock Delta that the gun shop has. So as a fun day, Thursday I'm shooting sporting clays with my teenaged friend and the heavy magnum . That will be fun! 10ga thunder on the hill. It's fun watching him shoot it, all of a 135lbs soaking wet kid, the gun picks him clean off the ground each shot. It's awesome to see. Unfortunatly shells gone up. Wow is that expensive now. $42 bucks for 50 rounds of what used to be cheap steel! I do have a loader and I will be loading as I get money for supplies. Geezs that is something. 12ga 3.5" has killed the 10ga. Screw them the 10ga patterns way better.

I will remember to bring the camera for this event. I've got to get this on the flash drive.

BTW the range is regulated to 12ga and less with 7 1/2 shot or smaller in sport loads only. Opps 3.5" 10ga shooting #2 is a little much, but we work there. General public doesn't get these perks.

Yes my dogs are told to behave using heavy control talk and stop acting like animals. Much to my suprise they comply at once. It is amazing! I've got to say I've been busy, both doing something and doing nothing. I'm screwing around some. The reality is, I've got to actually do something to make some money here soon. The range won't cut it. I get stuff lined up though so I'm good.

So what have I been doing? Well there has been nights filled with drinking beer. Damn that really hits the spot. I couldn't do that in the last 13 weeks at all. Best thing it hasn't cost me money except my gas getting there.

Then there is window shopping at the gun shop. I really want that Delta Elite. I believe I might part with a couple toys in order to get that gem. Yes I know, but you haven't seen this Delta. I get hard thinking about it. Okay too much info, but it is nice. I'll make the call in the next 24hrs I guess as to what I'm doing.

It hasn't been all play. There is this little thing about getting the resume together and filling out applications. Well I got a professional writing me up the resume. She works for the school and it is free to me using her services. She is good. I"m having her custom tailor it to this job I really want up north. Yeah it would require me to move and all sorts of problems with that, but I'm going nuts down here and I feel I'd have a better chance at getting hired up there. I'll be sad if I did somehow land that job, because there is a certain amount of things I'd have to give up, but I can live with it. It would be a whole new adventure and I really need one.

I called some of my classmates that got hired, just to check in. I talked to one minutes ago. He is excited. I guess things so far are going well. They gave him a Glock 21 and a riot gun so he is stoked about that. I guess they bean bagged some suicidal guy with a knife in his chest the other night. That oughta be fun. Down here a deputy had to plug some guy charging him with a knife. When will they learn, you don't take a knife to a gun fight.

So all is good I guess. Next week I'm teaching hunter ed, going to the VA doctor and emailing out my stuff to departments if not sooner. I guess it depends on when I get my resume. Tomorrow I'm working at the range threw Sunday, so that will keep me busy. Hopefully soon I will find a job in LE, but till then life isn't too bad.

Unboxing World War II Militaria and Collectables

I wasn't sure where to share this video, but I thought you guys might enjoy watching me unbox a fairly good collection of World War II gear and other WW2 stuff. I picked this box of stuff up on ebay, and I've priced each item out as best I can and let's just say I definitely got my money's worth on this haul. I thought it would be fun to open it up and take it out on camera and just discover what is in it. I have no idea what a few of the things are, if any of you do, please let me know. The WW2 sleeping bag with cover, in great shape, was a real surprise at the bottom of the box. I had no idea what it was at first.

Again, if any of you know what some of the stuff in the box are, let me know. For instance, what the heck is the stap with a big chunk of hemp rope and a big old hook on it?? Some kind of equipment tie down?

Besides hanging out here and other places online, I spend time at the range. At the range I'm always talking with people about my rifle that are interested in it. Just today I was talking to another fella about his rifle. It was a nice rifle, an early SAI std pre-ban. He was doing okay at 300, but a lot of things could have been improved with his rifle, the silly repo bipod hung on the GC and the ammo for starters. We had a good talk. I really liked his rifle. All I could think about is taking it home for a week or two and working some magic to it. I the technology and the tools, Bahahahaha! LOL Anyway that is what I do. I also like to occasionally take my M21 to a match, that will allow it to shoot. It's all good fun, to promote the M14 type rifle. What do you guys do? Heaven forbid there are safe queens out there! lol

D.A.A.T stands for Defence and Arrest Tactics and it is a system of verbalization skills coupled with physical alternatives. After week one, I'm whipped. I have been tossed and my face planted in the mats probably well over 200 times now. Hand cuffs suck. They don't fit all. My wrists are too big and my wounded shoulder does not flex enough to just use one pair on me. I'm drinking water until I about puke, but it isn't enough I'm sweating so much during this training evalution. My knee is swelled up it doesn't flex anymore, but at least I got the arthritis in my foot squared away I think. Combine that with PT during the week out side of DAAT, it's very much like boot camp over again. It's very hard even for those in good shape. I'm not, My whole right side has been severly damaged over the years and I'm not that light. Shave off a hundred and I'd still be whipped. However it is forcing me to push it at 110% all the time. That feels pretty good. Classroom time is intense also. Lots of studying. I'm fortunate to be where I am. WI has it's standard, My schools academy standard exceeds the state standards, about double. Passing it isn't supposed to be easy, and they make it twice as hard. Being a Marine, hell, I wouldn't have it any other way. As in the Marine Corps, Motrin was issued for about everything, and I'm eating them like candy now. Something about the difference between my late teens early twenties, w/o injuries vs now, damaged and 38 at the end of these 13 weeks. Anyway week 1 is in the past, it's history. Time to recover, study, and prepare for next week.

I haven't had a Coke or Mtn.Dew for about a month now and I can tell a big difference in my health! I also haven't had my usual weekend mixed drinks i was allowing myself either for about as long. It was a little tough at first, but I'm fine with it now. I haven't been on a scale lately, but I've already been told that I appear to have dropped some weight. I was in the mid 240's the last time I visited the Dr. I've noticed a boost in my overall energy levels throughout the day and don't seem to have as many aches and pains as before. I'm thinking of making this a semi-permanent arrangement for now. If this keeps up, I may even start making time for some exercise!.

Here's my 2 cents. Businesses and corporations exist primarily to make profit. That has little to do with patriotism or a love of our nation. Borders and nations only pose additional expenses and complications to their goal of gathering immense wealth and influence. How are the needs of the individual protected in this country, when the only representation available is being bought with campaign contributions by large corporate donors? Have you ever heard of a group called A.L.E.C.?

A little disclaimer here. As a voter I am registered as unafiliated with any political party, and do not necessarily agree with every statement in this video. However, there is a very good explanation of what A.L.E.C. is and what effect it is having on our lives and liberties.

How much representation in our government at the State and Federal levels, do you believe corporations and businesses should have. Personally I don't want them having that much influence and power over our lives.

CMP / NRA service rifle shooting

Last month I started shooting a service rifle competition. Not knowing the game, I went there with few expectations, as I rarely shoot rifles anymore without optics.

It's only 100 yards, and they use reduced size targets to simulate distance. While they are not able to simulate trajectory over the distances it was quite a bit of fun.

I don't think that at that distance I'll get a "proper" shooting jacket, or glove, or even a spotting scope but at minimum I have a mat, timer (for the long boring 20 minute segment) plenty of mags, and a shooting vest I can snug up really tight around my torso.

Most folks used AR's but two including myself had M1A's. They were all a very helpful bunch, if you haven't tried service rifle you should locate a match and give it a go. I know I'll be doing it from now on whenever possible.

New Smith Enterprise Gas Piston

Before the rain came in yesterday, I finally got to spend some more time with my M1A after three long weeks! I've been changing out the items that many consider to be "must have" upgrades to ensure better performance and accuracy in these rifles. This gas piston is the last of the three parts that I had left to switch. H2Oman had seemed to think this piston was superior due to it's new design of having radial gas grooves cut around the piston as opposed to the standard square cuts made in others. I felt that it might be worth investigating, so I called Smith Enterprise and placed my order over the phone. The cost was a little higher than their regular offering, but I went ahead with the transaction. The piston was shipped to me via USPS and arrived very quickly with a wicked little decal that is now on my gunsafe. Here's a picture.

After setting up to test the new piston, I decided to remove the factory Springfield Armory gas piston from my rifle and clean everything up a bit. It is my understanding that the gas system is supposed to be run dry and lubrication is not necessary and could actually be detrimental to performance in some way, so after swabbing things out. I ran some carburetor cleaner through to degrease everything. Here's a picture of the dirty factory piston and gas plug when I first removed everything.

And now for some pictures of the two pistons together for comparison....

While I had them out, I decided to take some measurements and compare the dimensional differences between both. Other than the radial cuts, the pistons were dimensionally identical, with the exception of the bore in the end of the piston itself. It's not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless...Here the SAI gas piston bore measures 0.323" in diameter.

And here, the SEI gas piston bore measures 0.325".

After reassembling the rifle with the SEI gas piston in place I fired three fouling shots with some milsurp. I had 5 rounds of Federal 168gr. Gold Medal Match leftover from last time so I fired them into the bottom center target. I had just recently had the rifle out of it's stock and am wondering if the vertical stringing is the action settling back into place. Could be a possiblilty. All the other targets were shot with Hornady 168gr. match. The two on the bottom, on either side of the center were done using the SEI gas piston. After allowing a cool down period. I changed back over to my SAI gas piston and fired on the three targets on top.

The groups weren't appreciably different enough for me to bother measuring. The one target using Federal ammo may have been my fault for not giving the action more time to resettle into it's stock. While I don't really see any real change in the group sizes between the two pistons, I do like the fact that the SEI is chrome plated. I have noticed that the more I fire this rife, the better it is getting, so I may just need to run some more ammo through it and give it more time to settle in. So far I've only put somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 rounds through this rifle and have heard that it may take more like 350 rounds to reach that point. The new piston seems well made, looks durable, and appears to function every bit as good as the OEM piston. I am going to spend more time with each in my rifle with different ammunition in the future.

I've been checking out chest rigs (since I may get into three gun matches). I was wondering if any of you guys own, use, or recommend a chest rig. Like any modular system, the sky seems to be the limit but my concern is that some seem to have really deep mag pouches (usually designed for AR mags). I don't think I would like a belt system but if you have ANY system that works for you, post it up. All feedback is appreciated.

I am officially M1A-less. It is not mine anymore. Brian is the proud new papa. I will still be frequenting this site but will be busy with house stuff and I opted for overtime for the couple of weeks so I won't be on all too much. I need the cash right now. I will be getting my new m1a by June so not too far out. I have some gun projects too keep me busy. Havelock has been fielding questions I have been asking about a FAL rifle. Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother.
Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've
been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would
share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's
not so bad after all.

Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first
must bore you with a few technicalities of my job.
As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the
sea. I wear a suit to the office. It's a wet suit.

This time of year the water is quite cool. So what
we do to keep warm is this: We have a diesel
powered industrial water heater. This $20,000
piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea.
It heats it to a delightful temperature. It then
pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose,
which is taped to the air hose.
Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've
used it several times with no complaints. What
I do, when I get to the bottom and start working,
is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my
wet suit. This floods my whole suit with warm water.
It's like working in a Jacuzzi. Everything was going
well until all of a sudden, my butt started to itch.
So, of course, I scratched it.

This only made things worse. Within a few seconds
my ass started to burn. I pulled the hose out from
my back, but the damage was done. In agony I
realized what had happened. The hot water machine
had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit.

Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the
jellyfish couldn't stick to it, however, the crack of
my ass was not as fortunate.
When I scratched what I thought was an itch,
I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack
of my ass. I informed the dive supervisor of my
dilemma over the communicator. His instructions
were unclear due to the fact that he, along with
five other divers, were all laughing hysterically.
Needless to say, I aborted the dive. I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water
decompression stops totalling thirty-five minutes
before I could reach the surface to begin my chamber
dry decompression.
When I arrived at the surface,
I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet.

As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears
of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube
of cream and told me to rub it on my butt as soon
as I got in the chamber. The cream put the fire out,
but I couldn't shit for two days because my ass was
swollen shut.

So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think
about how much worse it would be if you had a
jellyfish shoved up your ass. Now repeat to yourself,
'I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.'

Whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this
a jellyfish bad day?

WARNING: ONLY Read This When You Are Able To LAUGH OUT LOUD.

I went to Home Depot recently while not being altogether sure that course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented 'you're definitely going to crap yourself' road-kill chili. Tasty stuff, although hot to the point of being painful, which comes with a written guarantee from me that if you eat it, the next day both of your butt cheeks WILL fall off.

Here's the thing. I had awakened that morning, and even after two cups of coffee (and all of you know what I mean) nothing happened. No 'Watson's Movement. Despite the chilies swimming their way through my intestinal tract, I was unable to create the usual morning symphony referred to by my dear wife as 'thunder and lightning'.

Knowing that a time of reckoning HAD to come, yet not sure of just when, I bravely set off for Home Depot, my quest being paint and supplies to refinish the deck. Upon entering the store at first all seemed normal. I selected a cart and began pushing it about dropping items in for purchase. It wasn't until I was at the opposite end of the store from the toilets that the pain hit me.

Oh, don't look at me like you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm referring to that 'Uh, Oh, CRAP, gotta go' pain that always seems to hit us at the wrong time. The thing is, this pain was different. The chilies from the night before were staging a revolt In a mad rush for freedom they bullied their way through the small intestines, forcing their way into the large intestines, and before I could take one step in the direction of the toilets which would bring sweet relief, it happened. The chilies fired a warning shot.

There I stood, alone in the paint and stain section, suddenly enveloped in a toxic cloud the likes of which has never before been recorded. I was afraid to move for fear that more of this vile odor might escape me. Slowly, oh so slowly, the pressure seemed to leave the lower part of my body, and I began to move up the aisle and out of it, just as a red apron clerk turned the corner and asked if I needed any help.

I don't know what made me do it, but I stopped to see what his reaction would be to the toxic non-visible fog that refused to dissipate. Have you ever been torn in two different directions emotionally? Here's what I mean, and I'm sure some of you at least will be able to relate. I could've warned that poor clerk, but didn't. I simply watched as he walked into an invisible, and apparently indestructible, wall of odor so terrible that all he could do before gathering his senses and running, was to stand there blinking and waving his arms about his head as though trying to ward off angry bees. This, of course, made me feel terrible, but then made me laugh. ..........BIG mistake!

Here's the thing. When you laugh, it's hard to keep things 'clamped down', if you know what I mean. With each new guffaw an explosive issue burst forth from my nether region. Some were so loud and echoing that I was later told a few folks in other aisles had ducked, fearing that someone was robbing the store and firing off a shotgun Suddenly things were no longer funny. 'It' was coming, and I raced off through the store towards the toilet, laying down a cloud the whole way, praying that I'd make it before the grand explosion took place.
Luck was on my side. Just in the nick of time I got to the john, began the inevitable 'Oh my God', floating above the toilet seat because my butt was burning SO BAD, purging. One poor fellow walked in while I was in the middle of what is the true meaning of 'Shock and Awe'. He made a gagging sound, and disgustedly said, 'Son-of-a-b****!, did it smell that bad when you ate it?', then quickly left.

Once finished and I left the restroom, reacquired my partially filled cart intending to carry on with my shopping when a store employee approached me and said, 'Sir, you might want to step outside for a few minutes. It appears some prankster set off a stink bomb in the store. The manager is going to run the vent fans on high for a minute or two which ought to take care of the problem.'

My smirking of course set me off again, causing residual gases to escape me. The employee took one sniff, jumped back pulling his shirt up to cover his nose and, pointing at me in an accusing manner shouted, 'IT'S YOU!', then ran off returning moments later with the manager. I was unceremoniously escorted from the premises and asked none too kindly not to return.

Home again without my supplies, I realized that there was nothing to eat but leftover chili, so I consumed two more bowls. The next day I went to shop at Lowes. I can't say anymore about that because we are in court over the whole matter. The idiots claim they're going to have to repaint the store

Things and people you see at the range

I just thought I would relate a few things I've seen at the range over the years (military ranges and civilian).

-At Camp Pendelton-Since I was an air-winger from Miramar we had to go up there to qualify with with the rifle. And let me tell you they hold the wildlife at Pendelton in VERY high regard. The range we shot at was in the valley between two mountains and the berm was at the base of another. If a deer poked its head out of the trees at either side of the range, ALL firing stopped until the deer went back into the woods. Sometimes it was a couple minutes, sometimes MUCH longer.
Then there was the birds, I remember being down in the butts pulling targets and seeing a bird land lightly in the impact area. One minute there was a bird there, then youd hear the slug go through the target, look at the impact area and all that was left was a puff of feathers and a greasy spot LOL

-At Parris Island-Being an air-winger I got to go everwhere else to qualify, lol, so when I was at Beaufort we went to Parris Island. Now way back when we got to shoot at night as part of the "A" line course. We'd get about 20 rounds I think it was and you had to the 500 target under the light from parachute flares. Well in boot camp they popped the flares and we shot. Once we got done shootin, we were hustled off the range because the flares set the berm that seperated the ranges on fire. By the time every local and base fire department go to the Weapons Battalion area the fire had gone from just in front of the road that lead to the butts to the 500 yard line.

-At my local range once I was shooting next to a guy who was trying to zero a .300 Win Mag Browning A bolt. I was shooting at the 100 yard line with my then still new Loaded Standard M1A. I was alternating between my paper target and the two steel cut outs at the 200 yard line. He was shooting at a zeroing target and not hitting anything, I mean there was no visual impacts on the berm even.
I ask him if he sighted, or atleast bore sighted the scope before he started using the rifle.
He told me he'd had it bore sighted, but hadnt zeroed. Then I asked if hed shot at anything closer than 100 yards and again said NO. So I repeated what hed just told me so he could hear it, and I could see the light going on and he says, "thats probably why I missed that dear at 200 yards yesterday"..............

It looks like Uncle Ted is off the hook!

Love him or hate him, one things for sure, Ted Nugent speaks his mind. I've heard a lot of good, as well as some bad things about the man, but really don't know how much is fact, speculation, or fiction. I'm sure you all are aware of his latest appearance where he made some comments that were seen as potentially threatening the POTUS and some of his cabinet. It seems the Secret Service though it serious enough to go so far as to question him about it. I imagine with the whole prostitute scandal going on, though that the Secret Service would rather not be drawing any extra media attention onto itself right now. It looks like they were satisfied with the Nuge's explanation. I can't help but wonder though, if there was any suggestion made to Ted to tone it down a bit. Haha!

Questions about Reloading Ammunition.

How many of you guys reload your own ammunition? I considered doing this years ago but decided not too due to the initial costs. This brings up my second question. Is there any true savings in reloading your own ammunition or is it just having the flexibility of customizing your own loads? If you do reload, I would be interested in knowing how much ammunition you shoot, what the approximate savings is, and the overall cost of your equipment.

If you pay $400 and save $2 a box of ammunition and only shoot 5 boxes a year (not a great example but you get the point), it would take you awhile to recover your investment. If it is about experimentation (within reason), that's cool, just not what I'm looking for.

I decided to cook a three pack of boneless pork chops for dinner tonight................Seasoned with a light sprinkle'n of garlic powder, LaRue Dry rub, black pepper, and season salt. Then let to set up in the fridge for a few hours and onto to the Foreman.

Then onto the dinner plate with sweet corn and a big baked potato with sweet cream butter.............

Ok last night the gf and I went to see the local roller derby team play, now as a kid I remember watching Roller Derby on tv (almost always the Bronx Bombers vs. some one) and it was scripted and a lot like professional wrestling!

I had NO IDEA this had become a real sport with over 1000 teams through out the US as well as Australia! Now I wont be buying season tickets and for $5 a person I will admit I had a good time despite the fact I didnt understand all the rules by the time the double header was over! guess I cant see what the 7 yes 7 refs can see! They play rough!!! there were 3 stoppages due to injury only once did the girl have to be carried off the track! Come to find out Billings has an A and B team and a junior team (ages 7 to 14) both Billings teams played and won.

We had fun just laughung at some of the girls names sexyswitchblade (the away teams 300 pounder,) Badonkadonk, Chaos Kid, Icandee, DD struction, and local favorites Metal Militia, SkaDoosh and Honey Badger lmao!. A lot of these girls play to the crowd and really made it a fun night.

The away teams were from Boise ID (about 550 miles from here) and Spearfish SD. (300 miles)

I highly suggest checking out a local match you might just enjoy it but dont go in expecting an NHL or NFL game or a WWE match the way I did!

We had some house repairs that came out of no where and we can't afford to put it all on the Credit Card as we are taking a trip to England soon and most cash we have is tied up with that. One Saturday night about 2 years ago when I was a "2" slot my shift responded to call about a disturbance in the parking lot of a club, the club happened to be the one and ONLY Alternative Lifestyle Club (see GAY bar) ever to be in the Havelock area.

So we get to the parking lot and get out on foot just walking around and seeing if we can find whos causing the trouble.

Well, it didnt take all that long until we hear this God awful wailing. I mean like a cat gettin raped with a pine cone. And crying too.

So we find two young men who are in the thro's of a lovers (BARF) spat................

The one doin the cry'n and wailing is mad that his boy-toy has cheated (BARF) on him.

So we ask for their ID's and sure enough, the butt hurt (BARF) one is underage and has been drinking.

I go get my PBT (Portable Breath Tester) and this kid does everything to avoid giving me a proper sample.

I tell him " I need you to blow into this tube just like you would blow up a balloon"

He replies "I'm GAY, I think I know how to BLOW!!"

Needless to say I started laughing, so did all of the other guys I was there with and the kid still got arrested for consuming alocohol under age since his breath sample was positive for it.

Then to make it that much funnier, the kid asks me as I put in the back of my patrol car, "can I give him a kiss before you take me to jail".

Not just NO but HELL NO!!!!!!

I laughed all the way there LOL
